Can Aloe Vera help my acne problem?

TEST 1: Aloe vera for curing acne

Aloe vera is very well known plant, it has been called the plant of immortality and has been used to heal and cure external and internal body problems for thousands of years now. Just 1 leaf includes compounds like 20 minerals, 18 amino acids and 12 vitamins, so its easy to see why it is used in many beauty products today.

From research online about the plant, it sounds like a promising cure to most of my problems, the main uses for aloe vera include healing burns, curing skin issues such as acne and psoriasis and even helping get rid of dandruff.

Aloe vera contains salicylic acid that has anti-inflammatory and anti bacteria properties, which is very useful against acne and it is commonly used in acne creams.

so using Aloe vera in combination with other active ingredients would help to speed up the absorption of the other ingredients into the skin allowing the products to work better and hopefully killing the bacteria which causes acne.
So can aloe vera help my acne?. This question has led to my first test.

My first test will see me use Life plan Aloe vera gel which is 99% pure aloe vera gel and is suitable for vegans.available online at www.lifeplan.co.uk.

I have also chosen to use freedom gel and freedom oil- free perfecting moisturizer alongside/with my aloe vera gel, as the aloe vera should help the ingredients in freedom gel, (which include nicotinamide, which has been clinically proven to help get rid of inflamed red spots) to penetrate the skin more.

For two week prior to this test i had just been using aloe vera gel on its own, but with regret, did not see much results with my acne. However i found that the aloe vera did moisturize my skin and gave it a firmer, plumper feel and look.


Test duration: Approximately 14 days.

Question: Does Aloe vera help cure spots?
Answer: NO, but its a very good moisturizer and can help sooth and calm redness of spots.

Quest for perfection?

Perfection can mean what ever you want it to mean. To me, sorting out a few of my problems with my health and body will tick my boxes of my idea of perfection in terms of my appearance. It doesn't mean I will be a different person, nor does it mean I will have to undergo drastic measures to change my appearance.On my quest to a perfect healthy body, I will be buying and testing numerous of products ranging from well known brands, products from around the world and natural beauty products. I would say that i am a good candidate for this test, as I can honestly say that there are probably 101 problems with my body.
Heres just my top 5 problems:

1. Stretch marks
2. Acne
3. unwanted hair
4. Dry skin
5. Dry/brittle hair

Also, did i mention I am only 19, shock-horror.
Now, I am sure I am not alone and many people out there suffer from these things, but I can never find the answer to my problems straight away or in one place, and how do we even know if they really work. So here it goes join me on my quest for perfection.

Designer things, what's the hype?

Today I thought to myself, Why do people go crazy for designer stuff? This was ofcourse an easy question, right?
Surprisingly i couldn't really answer the question myself, because i shamefully don't know.
I myself have a dream of starting a brand, but what would make it designer and would I want it to be designer. So new question , is designer best?
This initial small thought has led to me deciding that I will start my own brand and I will study the Market and post my findings on a new blog, so if your interested watch this space.

Chanel paradoxal review

The name sounds like a it could be poisonous, but don't be worried Paradoxal is the distinctive purple shimmery shade from chanel. I would say you either love it or hate and if your not too keen then don't consider spending the money on it. I myself like it in a specific light, room light. You will see different shades as you move into different lights, so you might not like the daylight colour.

Anatomicals eye mask review

I am woman, hear me snore eye mask by anatomicals is a silk sleep mask, which is perfect for those who need that extra glamorous, rejuvenating and relaxing sleep. Its bright pink silk, with orange elastic and white stitch writing  "I am woman, hear me snore". Its not exactly breakfast at Tiffany's, but its close call.

Good point: Its silk, so great for eyes to stop the wrinkles, and its a good price.
Bad point: Its quite small, I do not have a big head, but it still managed to feel small, width and length wise.

CHANEL nail varnish pulsion

Check out the Chanel nail varnish pulsion 547, from the Christmas 2010 makeup collection by peter Philips, global creative director of Chanel makeup,as it plays with the idea of forbidden pleasures.
the shade is a fuchsia colour and it is truly beautiful and eye popping.
I really love this nail varnish, its my favorite pop colour yet. Wear it with neutral tones especially black, to give you that chic feminine twist to the outfit.

Urban Decay NYC Palette review

So after buying the naked palette and loving it(see my Urban decay naked palette review post) i went out the following week and brought this urban decay NYC book of shadows volume III . This palette is packed with super hot eyeshadows, 16 in total(Bordello, Suspect, Money, Radium, Haight, Snatch, Psychadelic sister, Maui Wowie, Rockstar, Midnight cowboy Rides again, Uzi, Perversion, Last call ,kush ,Smog, loaded).
           The beautifully NYC themed book of shadow includes a ribbon drawer that you pull out to reveal 16 eyeshadows, 2 travel sized 24/7 glide on eye pencils in zero and ransom and an small eyeshadow primer potion. Being a new lover of urban decay eyeshadows, I thought that this palette was too daring for me, but when I brought it home I felt comfortable with the shades, as you can easily tone down the intensity of the colours.
I do warn anyone who isn't really into shimmery and/or glittery eyeshadows, that this palette is basically a glitter explosion. I think pervision is the only matt shade in there ,and so is best avoided if you prefer matt shades. The top half of the box also opens up to reveal a pop up display in front of the mirror which actually lights up with little LEDs lights to create the NYC scene.

QUICK REVIEW
I recommend this palette if your love bright vibrant colours, its a good selection of eyeshadows with amazing quality.

Good points: 16 eyeshadows, 2 pencils and potion, thats A lot of products in one, so the price is great.
Bad Points: The colours like Radium, Kush and Psychedelic sister are very bright and eye popping, so it will take a lot of thinking as to how,when and where to wear them.

Sultry eyes with the naked palette 

Ok, this is the one palette everyone should have it is (capital letters) AMAZING!

its by urban decay and its the naked palette. i think this palette is just the most perfect collection of 12 neutrals in one amazing palette. It also comes with a double ended 24/7 glide-on eye pencil in zero and whiskey (brown and black) and a 3.7ml of there fantastic eyeshadow primer potion.the colours are not your usual boring neutral shades thats for sure, each shade is just the perfect tone and captivating in its own way.  i just saw this on the urban decay counter and i fell in love. when i got home and tried it out i became madly in love. it is just perfect! i can create all the smokey looks and seductive eyes i can dream of, and if im just feeling simple , i can create the prettiest eyes easily. This is my 1st ever time buying an urban decay palette. i have heard about how good the eyeshadows are, but never really thought of buying them. That was a big mistake as, urban decay has now become my favorite brand for eyeshadows.

There is also a handy mirror on the inside, so its great to have in your bag especially if you want to change your eye look from, day to night, and do not want to take your whole make up supply with you.
